Meet your new bundle of joy! Abby loves people and will bring endless joy, affection and laughter to her new family! Although it seems this sweet girl has never known the life she deserves and longs for, her spirit and love for people remains strong, hoping today will finally be the day her family comes to rescue and love her as unconditionally as she will love them! All Abby asks is to be the only pet in the home and in exchange we know she’ll provide the all the love and affection you could ever dream of! When originally tested, Abby did well with other medium-large dogs, but her extended stay in the shelter seems to have made her weary of other dogs (not uncommon given the close quarters, constant barking, and exposure to larger dog-aggressive doggies...). Once settled in in a home away from the stress and chaos of the shelter life, it’s possible that Abby could begin to let her guard down and learn to trust other doggies again, although introductions will need to be done properly and with the help of an experienced individual, like a trainer or Milo staff. Many people enjoy and are looking to have a single dog in the home, and for those people/families, Abby will make the perfect companion!
Abby is a compact, affectionate, active girl who enjoys walks, hiking, playing fetch, and especially snuggling up with her people, showering them in her love and sweet kisses. Abby loves kids and seems to recognize well that she needs to play more gently with them. She’s a natural family girl and wants nothing more than to be with you.
Please consider fostering or adopting this sweet, loving, adorable girl today at Milo Point Richmond!

*Rescuer Notes* 9/28/17 "Abby doesn't have an extra survival story. She's not a hurricane victim.
She wasn't lucky enough to have a great family before some disaster struck.
She probably never had it that good. This little girl just showed up on my
door step one day, clearly having just had puppies, and was dumped. She
roamed the street for a couple days shying away from strangers. And who
could blame her. I put food out for her and she came closer. After that she
didn't leave my yard. One day I fed her out of my hand and it was all over!
All she needed was someone to show her love. After that she was jumping
into my arms to give me hugs and kisses and chasing my car down the street
because she just wanted to hang out with me. She is a very sweet dog,
desperately seeking her "person" or family to call her own. She is great
off leash and will just follow you around. She is great in the car. She'll
just jump in and sit or lay down calmly. She was not in my house so I don't
know if she's house trained. She was fine around my kids and knew quickly
they were part of the pack and would go up to them tail wagging. She is protective of her house and people and very loyal! She noticed the difference between neighbors and people who were unfamiliar on
the street. She would love to be in the house as well as outside. When I
went in she wanted to go in with me!
She is 50 lbs and around 1.5 years old. Basically, she's
a very sweet dog who just needs to find someone who will love her as
Unconditionally as she will love them! She hasn't had it easy. She had a pretty
big following of people networking to keep her out of the shelter and
finally made it to rescue! Please give Abby a second chance at a great
