Featured Critter: JIMMY

Breed: Chihuahua Mix  -  Gender: Male  -  Age: 8 yrs. 3 mo. (est)  -  Milo ID: 24619

STRAY CHI 4TH ST Jimmy is a super-star senior! This poor guy was found running stray, in Richmond, after one of our big winter storms. Skin and bones, hair falling out, with horribly sunburned ears, it was obvious that this fine, little fellow was an outdoor dog. He went to the shelter - where nobody claimed him - and his time was running out. Milo intervened, but like the rest of his body, his teeth have been neglected. We would appreciate donations to help this sweet guy start his second lease on life.

Featured Critter: CIRCUS MOM

Breed: Rat Terrier - Chihuahua Mix  -  Gender: Female  -  Age: 1 yr. 2 mo. (est)  -  Milo ID: 24250

CIRCUS MOM *FOSTER NOTES*: Spunky and adorable companion. Circus has been living in our home for two months and is doing great! At first she was very shy and fearful; especially with my male partner. After a few days, Circus didn't growl at him, and after 1 week they were able to cuddle and play together with no issues. She takes a while to warm up with new people, but treats, "baby voice" and slow pets really help.

Circus gets along great with every dog and cat we meet. She LOVES the dog park! When we go to Pt. Isabel she trots along next to me. She responds well to her name and comes back for a treat when I call her. Her recall is getting better every day.

At home Circus shares food, toys and dog beds gracefully with other dogs and cats. When I leave for a few hours, she goes into her crate with plenty of treats inside. She will chew on a good bone or hoof quietly. What a HUGE snuggler- she basically has no sense of personal space. She loves giving kisses and sleeps on laps.

Overall Circus would be a perfect companion dog, with or without other animals around- maybe best with one person in the home and a quiet environment- she could get used to more people around but needs lots of TLC.
