Featured Critter: SEAMUS

Breed: Snowshoe   -  Gender: Male
Age: 8 yrs. 6 mo. (est), Milo ID: 27907
Current Location: Foster

SEAMUS, MAIVE and DEIRDRE Sadly the owner of these three lovely cats has passed away, and finding them a loving home together is now urgent! We hope a loving home will take these three lovely creatures in for foster or adoption - fees are totally negotiable - we want them to have love, care and comfort - they have lots to give!

Deceased guardian's bio: Seamus is a very loving Snowshoe, approximately 8 years old. The day after I had to put down my dog, Seamus ran up to my front door. He immediately circled my ankles and ran inside when I opened the door. He apparently knew there was an open space and he was going to take it. He was fixed, so I assumed that he was abandoned by a prior owner. Seamus loves people, showering affection on anyone who enters the house. He needs human attention on a regular basis. He’s extremely attached to my other two cats, regularly cleaning and playing with them. All four of us sleep together nightly. He has had no significant health issues except gum disease, which my vet has dealt with. He eats one can of Friskies wet food per day, and is an indoor cat, as the vet recommended. I have his complete medical records since he came to me.

This is a very handsome Snowshoe, and he and his two best girlfriends make a lovely, bonded trio. Due to special circumstances, they are looking for a home TOGETHER! They are gorgeous, delightful, well cared for beings who love each other and their mom, and it is her wish that they be adopted to a loving home as a family unit. They are affectionate sweethearts.

Featured Critter: MAEVE

Breed: Domestic Long Hair   -  Gender: Female
Age: 6 yrs. 4 mo. (est), Milo ID: 27908
Current Location: Foster

MAEVE, DEIRDRE and SEAMUS Sadly the owner of these three lovely cats has passed away, and finding them a loving home together is now urgent! We hope a loving home will take these three lovely creatures in for foster or adoption - fees are totally negotiable - we want them to have love, care and comfort - they have lots to give!

Deceased guardian's bio: Maeve is approximately 6 years old. She and her sister, Deirdre, started hanging out together in my backyard in Fresno, when they were between 8 months and a year old, according to my vet. I started feeding them and she came into my house. Seamus, immediately accepted her and they have been close ever since. She had been fixed, so I also assume that she and her sister were left behind when her prior owner moved.

Maeve loves people and competes with Seamus for attention from anyone who enters the house, along with attention from me. She is extremely attached to Seamus and her sister. As with Seamus, she plays with and cleans the other two cats.

She has no significant health issues, except gum disease, which was dealt with by my vet. She eats one can of Friskies wet food daily. She and my other cats are indoor cats, as my vet recommended. Since moving to Oakland in 2014, she is cared for by the vets at VCA Vet Center in Oakland. I have her complete medical records since she came to me

Featured Critter: DEXTER

Breed: Shepherd - Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix  -  Gender: Male
Age: 3 yrs. 3 mo. (est), Milo ID: 28161
Current Location: MPR

DEXTER Dexter is a playful, active fellow, engaging and super affectionate and silly. Dexter loves his people & ALL people- he makes friends very easily! He is a want-to-be lap dog, a lover and a leaner, and very affectionate. His "happy place" is with people, a real sweetheart! He probably would do best in a home without small animals or chickens.

Dexter is attentive, intelligent, responsive to training and wants to please. He would do best as the only dog in the household. He is dog selective, but when he meets the right dog, he loves to play. Does best with dogs his size and age. Not a dog park dog.

We think he will make an excellent family dog for any single adult, adult couple or family with children roughly 8 & older. He is crate trained and house trained, and has great recall once he knows you.

Meet your new best friend, Dexter, today at Milo Point Richmond!

Featured Critter: BETTY

Breed: Maine Coon Mix  -  Gender: Female
Age: 3 yrs. 2 mo. (est), Milo ID: 27978
Current Location: Foster

BETTY & STELLA *Foster Notes* "Betty is intelligent and extremely loving. She likes to eat (clearly) and could probably benefit from a little caloric reduction, but putting her on an exercise program would be a snap! She absolutely loves her laser toy and will chase it up and down the stairs and around the house with great focus and acuity. All I have to do is pick up the toy (which has a little jingly bit that alerts her), and she immediately leaps off whatever perch she is on to stand ready for the fun. Betty is a snuggler and kisser who appreciates the better things in life. She wants comfort and love and security, but she is also up for the kind of ‘love’ my daughter seems inclined to give her on a regular basis. She is relaxed kitty, and enjoys long stretches of hanging out companionably with her person on something soft and cushy if there is no other action to observe or join in.

Betty is beautiful, like her sister. She is also a cat who gives back a great deal of affection. She is on point with all the usual concerns—she is 100% with the litter box, uses a scratching post eagerly, listens to commands and almost always sleeps peaceably through the night. A really magnificent cat, in other words.

Betty is spayed and healthy. She and her sister Stella enjoy one another company and could easily be adopted together, but she would be fine on her own as well. Betty and her sister Stella were apparently abandoned when their former owners moved. She’s been with me almost two very sweet months and is now feeling at home and herself again; I’m happy to answer any questions you might have about Betty!"

These two sister's were rescued from Modesto after their owner was no longer able to care for them. They have lived with a large dog with no issues and are good with kids. These gorgeous, fluffy girls are fixed and ready to find their forever home!

Featured Critter: DALLAS

Breed: Shih Tzu - Poodle Mix  -  Gender: Male
Age: 5 yrs. 8 mo. (est), Milo ID: 28089
Current Location: MPR

DALLAS Dallas is a super sweet boy with TONS of personality! He first arrived at Milo in 2016 after coming from a high kill shelter in Avenal. When he first arrived he was shy and reserved, but now that he's opened up and has built confidence he's ready for his perfect home.

Dallas can be wary of strangers at first. He prefers men over women but does have female staff he likes here at Milo. Dallas would do best in an adult only predictable home. Dallas’ initial wariness will need a patient owner who can provide him stability and routine showing him that everything is okay. Once he gains confidence, he loves to go on walks & hikes and allows himself to be rocked to sleep in your arms.

Dallas is not fond of loud noises or sudden movements. He is house-trained and rides well in a car. His BFF is staff member Alex. Come in and ask him about this little charmer today! See photos in for pics of how sweet he can be.
