"Fripp is a great guy; he's smart and affectionate and cuddly. He learns commands quickly and is eager to please. He's been living in a household with very young children and has put up with a lot. He's about seven years old and neutered. He is house trained and knows basic commands. He's about 40 lbs and lean slim build. His markings look like a Rotweiler. The rescue we adopted him from said his mother was a black lab, but he behaves more like a cattle dog and not a lab.

Fripp has some behavioral issues when it comes to new people and other dogs. He sometimes has fear aggression when meeting new people or dogs. He will get to close then get scared and growl. We have worked with a trainer on this and he's much better than he used to be, especially when introduced using her method. He lives with an alpha female and is mostly respectful of the pecking order. He's very playful and loves when she will wrestle with him. He goes on pack walks with a dog walker twice a week and does fine in a dog park and van with other dogs. He will chase cats. He also has mild separation anxiety and moderate anxiety around unpredictable sounds like the refrigerator compressor, the gas wall heater, thunder, etc. which is helped by his medication. He LOVES to fetch just about anything but especially balls with the chuck-it. If he gets a good fetch session in everyday, he will be a very balanced dog who shows little of his anxiety.

Fripp would be a great dog in a home with no other dogs or other dogs his size, no cats, and older children. He needs daily exercise and a lot of affection and physical touch. He'd do well with an experienced dog person who knows herding breeds.

We are urgently looking for a permanent home or foster situation for Fripp. We are willing to contribute financially to Fripp's care. Please call or text Britt at 510-517-4648 with any questions or to schedule to meet Fripp."

*Return Notes* "Very loving, affectionate dog. Wants to learn/ wants to please. Energetic/ loves walks. Just happy to be on your lap. Can experience a little leash frustration but can be corrected easily. She gobbles food and very protective of her bowl with other dogs.

Grace is crate trained and potty trained. Loves car rides- anywhere with her owner. Grace did not get along with my other dogs."

Tabitha-Grace is doing well with other dogs in her foster home... she is quite the character!! Bossy yes, reactive sure a bit, with great enthusiasm and wagging tail.... she shares the bed with two other small dogs, and makes sure the big dogs don't come up! Affectionate, silly girl!!

Puppies need a firm commitment to training, exercise, good nutrition, vet care, consistency, more training and lots of care, love and fun. A life full of learning and adventure and enough training and exercise to be a welcome and important family member.

Remember puppies are a big commitment, think hard before adopting, there are no refunds on puppy adoption fees.

Adoption fee $500, some of this can be considered a tax-deductible donation and for a $250/250 fee/donation you can get your pup a My Mutt photo shoot and big mounted poster hanging in your local Petfood Express store... and more!    Weight: Extra-Large (over 90 pounds)

   Milo ID: 25203

Ponto is an active dog who is social and playful out in the world, but he's serious about guarding when he's at home. His favorite things are running with other dogs, sitting outside where he can look over his domain, and lying at the feet of his person. He needs a home with people who are experienced with Livestock Guardian breeds.

Away from home: When Ponto sees his human and canine friends outside the home, he is overjoyed to see them and pays a lot of attention to them. He's been great at playing with other dogs, although as he's gotten older he's more reactive to unneutered males. Usually he's extremely happy to socialize with dogs, loves being chased and chasing.

At home: His guarding behaviors at home include particularly food aggression with people and dogs. Positive de-sensitization around these behaviors has been successful, but it's not quick. When he's home, he's alert to activity outside and he barks, but not to extremes.

Basics: He's good on leash, aside from the occasional squirrel. He's totally house trained, and has other training basics (sit, down, wait, leave it, back, go). When he's been alone during the work day, he hasn't been destructive or stressed. He's in perfect health and up to date on his shots. This spring he discovered that rain water tastes better than all other water, and sometimes would boycott faucet water.

Because Ponto is such large and strong guarding dog, he needs a home with people who are experienced with Livestock Guardian breeds. His guarding behaviors are breed-typical.

Return notes: "Best solo, very loving and inquisitive. indoor only. Needs lots of cuddles and interaction. Great lap cat. Very vocal and energetic."

Jingles was recently returned after being adopted back in 2012. He's a bit shy right now, but should come out of his shell soon enough. He is not recommended to a home with children under 7 years old.
