Notes by Elle: Buffy Marie is a very girly cat. She’s quite the femme fatale who loves to pose for her person. She’s very intelligent and knows when she’s done something that pleases her person so repeats it as long as you respond with the appropriate oohs and ahhs! She’s very, very cute, quite coquettish and as adorable as they come. She came to us from a Rescue but we know by her behavior that she was an owned kitty at one time. How she ended up in a Rescue is beyond us but being abandoned or lost has left a bit of a mark on her otherwise delightful personality. Here at the Sanctuary she sometimes gives someone an absolutely fierce sounding hiss! It’s kust for show and if you go ahead and pet her she’ll succumb and be purring in no time at all. It’s merely a defense mechanism we believe and think it will disappear quickly once she’s back in a home environment. Buffy is a very easy to live with cat who’s non demanding, litter box perfect and in good health other than a slight bit of Asthma, which should clear up on its own. She’s a calm, mature, adult kitty who loves to snooze and look out the window. She’s predominantly an indoor kitty. She tolerates other kitties and respectful small dogs as long as they leave her alone. She’s lovely to look at, especially when she’s primping and posing. A delightful and captivating medium sized kitty who’ll turn you into her slave before you can say, oh no you don’t. She’s a tad independent here at the Sanctuary but we feel that will disappear when she’s in a home of her own and feeling loved and accepted. For more information on Buffy please contact Sanctuarycats@milofoundation.org or call/text Elle at 415/350-0335

   Breed: Great Pyrenees Mix
   Gender: Male
Age: 1 yr. 10 mo.  Birthday: 4/2016 (est)
   Weight: Extra-Large (over 90 pounds)
   Milo ID: 26704
   Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary
Leonardo is a classic, handsome fur-ball Great Pyr. Stoic, watchful, mellow and actually playful! He and his son were reunited and hanging out at the Milo Sanctuary and now Bonaparte is adopted and Leonardo will come down to Terrapin Crossroads on Saturday and has a foster lined up in MArin if not adopted.

Great Pyrs need space to patrol and move around, protective and classically a bit nocturnal and with BIG, LOUD BARKS, thus typically not great choices for urban living, HOWEVER these two boys are absolute gems! They are not overly nocturnal or noisy and clearly have been loved and had indoor/outdoor lives. they know to go to a dog bed and lay down - they love attention and affection!! They are like playful, animated and sweet as can be. Good with other dogs and everyone. Leonardo was not comfortable on the slick concrete floors at Milo Point Richmond - he was so happy to get to the Sanctuary, tail up and wagging and then reunited with his boy Bonaparte! They do not need a home together but they would want people and animals around. They will chew through wooden gates to leave and be out...be with people, animals wandering.... will need a well fenced large yard, daily activity, stimulation, animals to watch over perhaps and exercise. Classically the Great Pyr is a stubborn breed, and they are big, so patience and strength are both good traits to have when living with a Pyr - also a really good vacuum!

Leonardo is a fantastic Pyr for breed savvy, outdoorsy folks!

Neutered and ready to go....$600 adoption fee.

   Name: ARWEN

Breed: Border Collie - Great Pyrenees Mix
   Gender: Female
Age: 1 yr. 3 mo.  Birthday: 11/2016 (est)
   Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds)
   Milo ID: 26631
   Current Location: The Milo Sanctuary
Arwen came to us with her Sibling Eowyn from an overcrowded shelter that couldn't properly take care of them or socialize them. Both she and her sibling are extremely shy dogs that need a LOT of socialization to get them to act like "normal" dogs. Since coming to our Sanctuary Arwen has proved to be very skeptical of the staff but is slowly warming up to the idea of allowing us to approach her. She loves other dogs but has not yet been cat tested. She is extremely smart and LOVES cookies, so we believe she could warm up in the right home, especially if she had a resident dog that could show her how to be a little more confident. She will not walk on a leash and does not want to be crated, though we are working on that and it seems to be showing slight progress. All in all, she is a very sweet girl that would need a dedicated person to show her that the world and the people in it are not all that scary. If you are interested in adopting or fostering this sweet girl send applications and inquiries to sanctuary@milofoundation.org.
