|Tidy, "delicate" (Cattledogs are rarely if ever truly "delicate!"), very cute girl. A black tri with a lot of white and multi-colored spots on her long legs. Very social and friendly, alert and agile. She may be part Basenji?
She has now been spayed, and we are getting to know this terrific little Heeler. She is alert, affectionate and sweet as can be - and nimble and quick! A great candidate for agility, she is terrific with people and other dogs, listens well and wants to please. She is fast!
She is perhaps a great candidate for competition and athletic games! Definitely needing activity and companionship and stimulation. NOT an apartment dog!
Foster update: "Cassidy did great on Tuesday. All day with 2 Huskies, 1 Schnauzer, 2
cats, 3 kids and an acre of open space. She was still timid, but was
able to amuse herself and come when called. I tied her leash to the
couch when I left the room for about 10 minutes and it turned out that
one of the kids had left her lunch dishes complete with leftovers right
beside Cassidy and she didn't even touch it! The friend whose house we
were at also fully agrees that Cassidy is ready for her own home.
After a week, I'd be more worried about finding a home for her that can
deal with a puppy (chewing, potty accidents etc) and her timidity, more
than her energy. In the house, we just haven't seen that energy."
"assidy continues to do well and is getting a little more brave. She was just fine overnight in the crate. Still nothing like "high energy" but a sweet, if clingy, little dog."
"I took photos of her to a class I attend today, and a woman who shows whippets on a national level said "you didn't tell me she was a Basenji." I came home and looked at the photos, and the darker colored Basenji's are dead ringers for her."
