   Gender: Female
   Age: 10 mos.  Birthday: 3/2019
   Milo ID: 30218
   Current Location: Milo Point Richmond
Nell was found in Oakland without any litter mates in the wheel well of an AC Transbay bus. She’s incredibly smart and has a lot energy. She’s channeled some of that into learning to “sit” and give her “paw”....for pay (a treat). Having grown up without other kittens to keep her in check, she is still learning how to play. She loves laser pointers, catnip toys, spinach (yes, spinach!). She needs a playmate, and might do well with another cat. If not another animal, she needs someone who has time to entertain this curious girl. She’s always ready to play and will give some sweet sweet cuddles after.

   Name: DYLAN
DYLAN

   Breed: Shepherd Mix
   Gender: Male
Age: 1 yr.  Birthday: 1/2019 (est)
   Weight: Medium (30 - 60 pounds)
   Milo ID: 30216
   Current Location: Milo Point Richmond
Dylan is a sweet boy who needs an active household/handler to give him the exercise he needs, and an understanding of boundaries instilled. He would benefit as would his adopter by attending some basic training classes. Ongoing play and socialization is important as he is an adult but needs more training on his lingering puppy behavior. Since he has some wild energy, he would do well in a home with older kids, he loves people!

Dylan has been to a 2 week training for manners/ re-activeness while walking on leash where he has shown improvement but he will need a consistent leader to keep up the training, and with good amounts of exercise he will be much easier to train!

Dylan would possibly do better in an area where there aren't too many people out and about on the streets as he does become anxious while a lot of unfamiliar people and dogs are around. His approach to other dogs can be forward but with the proper introduction it will be a smoother process.

He loves bones, and knuckles, and durable toys. He enjoys riding in a car and will put his head out to enjoy the fresh air and smells. Dylan loves attention and play time and will not tire quickly.

Anyone training for a marathon?!?!

$400 adoption fee for this enthusiastic, but slightly nervous boy.

Adult dogs have a ten day built in foster/get acquainted period built in with adoption.

   Name: JACK JACK
BLUE now JACK JACK
More Photos
   Breed: Rottweiler
   Gender: Male
Age: 5 yrs. 4 mo.  Birthday: 9/2014 (est)
   Weight: Large (60 - 90 pounds)
   Milo ID: 30212
   Current Location: Milo Point Richmond
Big Jack JACK, previously known as BLUE! Milo rescued him and his two siblings after their person passed away. They were very loved dogs, great companions who got along really well, happy siblings!

Jack is house-trained, pulls a bit on leash initially but with more exercise and routine he’ll settle some, as well some training and perhaps a Halti would help. He is possessive over his food/high value treats so he will need to be fed separately from other animals but he does well with other dogs, and really likes playing and hanging out, going to parks. No cats for this guy.

Due to Jack's medium-high energy he will need a home that will provide him with the exercise and stimulation that he so deserves! He loves water so going to the Albany Bulb, Point Isabel or on hikes where there is an area with water where he can have tons of fun would be great fun for everyone! Jack will need a yard with good fencing and should not be left alone unattended as he may try to dig his way out if he becomes bored. He would be very happy as a second dog. He would do well in a home with older kids as he can be possessive over his food and water bowl with humans as well.

Adoption Fee: $400

*** The Milo Foundation's Adoption Contract offers a 10-day built in fostering period on adult animals (over ten months age) where adopters can spend time getting to know their newly adopted pet and determine how it feels to share their home with this new dog or cat. During this 10-day period, adopters are welcome to take their new animal to be evaluated by professionals in the field or seen by their vet (at their own expense). If you determine it is not a good fit and we cannot help you make it work; the animal can be returned for a refund minus a $50 admin fee. For special cases, the 10-day period can be extended, but adopters must contact us prior to the 8th day and be actively seeking assistance for any issues that may be occurring. *** There are no refunds for puppies or kittens.

A very kind woman noticed Kane amongst a group of ferals in Richmond, and decided to try to find him a better situation. He was friendly enough to be caught and treated by a vet. Kane seems to be enjoying his new digs in his kitty condo at Milo. He likes his head scratched, and he will get vocal when he wants attention.

This sweet girl is looking for her forever home, she's been returned because she wasn't very dog playful.. . She is clever, smart, LOVES going on long walks, knows how to use a dog door, dog friendly but focused on her people. Doesn't bark, follows you around the house.... She is sweet with people, other dogs, will be fine living with or without other dogs, may be slightly lap posessive but nothing major. She would be okay with kids of any age, and would love to cuddle with you! She is a pretty easy going girl who is looking for a family to love!

Adopter's notes: Tabatha is a LOVE. She is sweet, loves to love, is well-mannered, quiet, house trained and smart. We brought her home on Friday and in less than a week, she has learned to use the doggy door. She is very trainable, we almost have her sitting and she understands come. She walks well on the leash with Nala, so no issues there. She loves walks and she chills next to me on the sofa or on her doggy bed. She does not like the crate, but I crated her at night for sleep and she is fine. She is AWESOME AND LOVING, and Friendly to all.

   Name: JANICE OR JANI
JANICE OR JANI
   Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie Mix
   Gender: Female
Age: 1 yr. 9 mo.  Birthday: 4/2018 (est)
Weight: Small (less than 30 pounds)
   Milo ID: 30185
   Current Location: Milo Point Richmond
Foster notes: “Janice is super playful. She loves her toys and loooooves to wrestle with my dog. She responds to her name, walks well on a leash and is potty pad trained! We are teaching her to outside. Jani loves to cuddle in bed, loves to give kisses and snuggle. She needs to be with a human who will love her and snuggle all the time. She's cuddled on the couch with me right now :).

Jani is nervous around little kids and strangers but warms up quickly. We suggest older children (12 and up) or no children. She needs her space to adjust and not be approached too quickly.

She is a flight risk for sure - her leash slipped and she tried running when my friend went to grab her. She comes when I call her though. More positive reinforcement training on the basics and leash training would be highly recommended. Once comfortable she will be way less likely to have this tendency but she needs responsible guardians who will take extra caution with her for the first couple of months.

Jani would love a home with people who love to play, cuddle and possibly have another dog cos she loves other pups!”

***

Janice is off the streets of Merced where she was on the run and avoiding being caught for at least two weeks, running scared. She was finally caught and then fostered in Merced by a devoted woman who was very devoted to her and Jani learned to love and trust, however she remained fearful of her husband and son. Bonded to her niece immediately, so a female adopter and a quiet somewhat predictable home with other dogs - she loves other dogs, is likely best! She needs nurturing, patience she chases and barks at cats for fun - she loves soft squeekie toys. She has learned to walk on leash with a harness but clearly had not been on leash in her prior life and also was fed human/fast food.... she is a finicky eater and a grazer.

A delightful brother - sister duo - though they do not need to be adopted together, they are big, mellow, love dogs - or really, LOVE PUPS! Hunks of love. They get along beautifully, and are sweet and gentle for their size and as puppies.

of course taking on pups this size takes considerable forethought.... do you have a stable home? Time, and space....can you provide ongoing socialization and training ASAP? They are willing and social, but as extra large breeds the time is now to get good training instilled.... but they seem like great dogs in the making - it will be up to considered, dog savvy adopters to have these great pups grow into themselves and be the awe inspiring dogs they are meant to be, and show every sign of being!

$500 adoption fee. And given they are puppies this takes real consideration, they truly need a commitment and consistency, training etc - no refunds are given on puppy adoptions.

Meet Boomer!

Boomer's sweet and good with other dogs. He is a typical Husky who will need to go to an active home that will provide him with the stimulation he needs, and he can use some leash training. Best home setting for Boomer will be one with another playful dog--since these guys do better in a pack--a well fenced yard, perhaps teenage kids and of course fencing that is at least 6ft high.
